John Holchin- VP of Marketing and Product Development

John pixUtilizing his extensive background in publishing, international marketing management and communications, John specializes in bringing new concepts to market as well as repositioning existing brands and companies.  His strength is the ability to combine traditional and emerging technologies to produce quantifiable, profitable results.

Following a successful career as a magazine executive for several publications, including Field & Stream, People Weekly and Time Magazine (where he was awarded the Time-Life President’s Award for Consumer Marketing Achievement), John began working internationally as a vice president of marketing for the French personal care firm, Yves Rocher, SA.  During his eight-plus year tenure at Yves Rocher, he managed marketing teams and programs in locales as diverse as Houston, Mexico City, Sao Paulo and Medellin.  He was also the general manager for the U.S. direct sales division.

After leaving Yves Rocher John began consulting for companies including Continental Airlines, Shell Rotella and Wenner Media where he successfully introduced the first e-commerce website for Men’s Journal, Rolling Stone, and US Weekly magazines.  Another client, a producer of nutritional supplements, Nutrition For Life International, hired him as the VP of marketing and product development.  In addition to overseeing the sales force and working extensively on the creation and successful launch several new product lines, he established a joint promotional program/partnership with the CBA (Continental Basketball Association).

Following NFLI, John became the president and CEO of the Washington County Chamber of Commerce/Convention & Visitors Bureau where his innovative programs increased membership to record levels and reversed a financial crisis.

John then returned to consulting as an equity partner and advisor for consulting firm, Harvest Global Management.   At HGML he oversaw the internet-based projects including Safe Traveler (travel monitoring service) and DreamHouse Publishing (producer of branded, online bookstores and social networks for organizations such as ACN Telecommunications, The Red Hat Society, Working Mother Media, SBTV, Women’s Business Enterprise National Council, Women Impacting Public Policy and the Catholic School Bookstores). He was also the acting president for Directory One, the SEO firm where he developed a turnaround program that helped the company achieve record growth for clients such as TRS Behavioral Care. 

Prior to joining Zoyto, John became the VP of Marketing & Communications for TRS where he helped develop and implement a successful traditional media and internet marketing program. He has a BBA in Marketing Management from Boise State University and is a board member on Coach Mike Ditka’s Gridiron Greats Assistance Fund.
