The Production Supervisor manages and controls Production
and Final Assembly including workorder scheduling, inventory
control and all other functions related to these operations
to meet the company's Manufacturing Plan with the highest
quality.
Responsibilities:
· Plans daily/weekly work programs for operations
using production schedules, Open Order Reports and
any other appropriate data
· Coordinates with Distributions, QC, Purchasing,
etc. for all needed shipments and supplies
· Contributes to the development of work standards
and processes and monitors efficiency per employee
and work cell
· Plans all job assignments in advance. Maintains
focus on departmental goals
· Effectively coordinates manpower - Shifting
during up/down times
· Manpower requirements/usage - daily/weekly
charts
· Communicates across the board on goals, needs
and shortages
· Reports on shortages and expected availability
dates
· Defines tool, fixture and material handling
needs
· Maintains material handling equipment to
assure their availability when needed
· Works closely with manufacturing engineering
for tool needs
· Makes items requirements (24 hours current
productions mat.), on a daily basis
· Oversees the maintenance of good housekeeping
procedures and good safety practices
· Reviews and governs assembly instructions,
generating REA's or MER's as needed
· Signs off on training log for new employees
and new assignments
· Oversees training, ensure proper assembly
and operations
· Strives for constant quality improvement,
including zero defects
· Aids in ISO 9000 implementation
· Oversees, works with and maintains computer
records and reports necessary to reflect accurate
inventory information
· Trains employees in the procedures to report,
document and maintain accurate physical and perpetual
inventory records
· Contributes to departmental budgeting activities
· Develops and maintains a sense of teamwork
and pride
· All other duties as assigned
Requirements:
· Associate Degree in Business or equivalent
· Two years plus experience in production and
manufacturing environment with a logistics/manufacturing
background preferred
